The 4 days Uganda primate safari is a road tour to Bwindi impenetrable National Park for mountain gorilla tracking with a night at Buhoma sector and include chimpanzee tracking at Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve and the Kyambura Gorge. It start in Entebbe and ends in Entebbe.

Day 1- Drive to Bwindi: Buhoma Sector

Today, meet your guide. He will brief you about your journey and you set off for the safari. The drive is a long one to Buhoma about 9 hours drive but with breaks for lunch and at the equator. Arrive in the evening at the lodge and have  dinner and overnight.

Day 2- Gorilla tracking and night at Queen Elizabeth National Park

It’s a gorilla tracking day. Have breakfast and head to the Buhoma sector offices for gorilla tracking. The trek can be 2-8 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family that day and it starts after a briefing by the park ranger. Once you find it, you’ll be allowed an hour to stay, watch, photograph and learn about the gorillas before you return. After the return, we head to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha sector. The drive is through the middle of the park, there for a chance for many big game sightings.

Day 3-Kalinzu Chimpanzee Tracking and afternoon Kyambura Gorge walk

On the Ishaka-Kasese road about 35 minutes from Kyambura is a the National Forestry Authority managed reserve-Kalinzu. One of Uganda’s best spots for Chimpanzee tracking. Today we shall have a day to track chimpanzees in the morning session at the reserve. The forest is an underlying one on a low elevation and makes it easy for the activity. After we return to the lodge and have lunch before our afternoon visit to the Kyambura Gorge. The Kyambura Gorge is Queen Elizabeth National Park’s most beautiful place. It is 100m, forested and home to a community of chimpanzees usually referred to as the “Valley of Lost Apes”. We will drive to the fig tree camp for briefing and after head to the gorge with guides and a ranger.

Day 4-Back to Entebbe

Today morning, rise early and have breakfast. Later transfer to Entebbe for your exit flight arriving in the early evening.
