SCENIC JOURNEYS AFRICA LTD TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Bookings made with Scenic Journeys Africa are to follow these terms and conditions.

The purposes of these terms and conditions, “YOU” means all clients booked on the tour and “US” means Scenic Journeys Africa.

The contact person making the booking is required to indicate acceptance of the terms and conditions and also does it on behalf of any group members they represent.

Four wheel drive vehicle, English speaking safari guide, primate tracking permits, park entry fees, meals, fuel and accommodation in the itinerary are all included in your safari trip.

The cost does not include international flights, visa fees, and items of personal use, insurance, drinks, and porters in parks, tips and activities mentioned as optional. We have the right to adjust the cost of your tour

Due to circumstances beyond our control for example changes to government taxes, permit costs… you name it, but would do everything possible to minimize any increases.

A deposit payment is done at time of booking and the amount required will depend on what payments must be made in advance to secure activities, hotel deposits etc.

The balance due shall be cleared at least 30 days before the start of your trip.

Bookings made within 30 days of departure date must be paid in full at time of booking.

Payments can be made by either international wire transfer or online.

Please contact us to discuss the most convenient and cost effective method for you.

Once your itinerary has been agreed and the deposit payment received, we will make the necessary reservations for accommodation and activities.

If you wish to make changes or adjustments in your itinerary after booking we will arrange for this if it is possible.

Note that the schedules for gorilla, chimpanzee and golden monkey tracking cannot be changed after booking and also that any changes made may result in additional costs.

Issues with lodges we reserve the right to make adjustments in the Itinerary. You will then be notified as soon as possible about the new developments.

Punctures, breakdowns and also delays can occur due to poor road Conditions that are out of our control, and for this no liability can be accepted.

This can depend on factors such as cancellation/refund policies of service providers such as lodges and hotels. you name it. In case some members of a group cancel, then those cancelling will also need to pay

Their portion of any shared costs such as guide, vehicle, etc.

There are no cancellation fees prior to payment of deposit.

13 weeks or more to start of trip – 15% charge

12 weeks-8 weeks to start of trip – 30% charge

8 weeks-4 weeks to start of trip – 55% charge

4 weeks -15 days to start of trip- 80% charge

15 days or less to start of trip – 100% charge

NOTE:

Tickets and Permits are excluded from percentages above and they are 100% non-refundable. E.g.

 

  • Gorilla
  • Chimpanzee
  • Golden Monkey
  • Flight

However, there might be a chance to resell your permits to another tour Operator, we will refund minus a service charge.

Cancellations must be made in written documentation by the contact Person. If any members of a group cancel their booking, they will be charged their part of the shared costs.

We have the right to refuse or cancel any part of the tour if any member in the group acts in such a way that could cause damage or danger to a Third party or the environment. In these circumstances no refunds will be given or compensation for any costs incurred.

Just in case there is an issue or complaints during the safari please Report immediately to the guide and we’ll do our best to resolve the Problem as soon as possible. If an issue has not been solved to the

Client’s satisfaction you can write to not later than 15 days after the end of your trip.

  • At Scenic Journeys Africa we cannot pay any compensation for unforeseen circumstances that are away from our control. E.g.
  • Flight delays/cancellations.
  • Terrorist attacks.
  • Border and Roads closure.
  • Government rules and regulation.
  • Natural disasters.
  • Extreme weather conditions.
  • Fires and Strikes… you name it.

We shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature to Person or property. We choose our suppliers carefully but cannot be held Liable for any errors in the supply of their services.

The client should have sufficient coverage with a travel/health insurance Policy and if there is any necessary immunization have to be taken and detailed information for your travel health insurance shall be requested by us on the departure date.
